WordBeat- For Dreamers by a Dreamer

By Neelam Dimri

As it’s rightly said by Drake, “Sometimes it’s the journey that teaches you a lot about your destination.” In fact, my journey in the writing world till now has been quite similar to his experience.

“A Fascination which Lingered since Childhood”

Since my childhood, I was highly imaginative and sometimes the wings of my thoughts flew so high that I found it difficult to accept the real world. I used to be highly fascinated with the poetic world and thought about the stories read in class for long. In fact, I kept on visualizing those stories and gave them different endings in my own imaginative world.

College Life Made the Heart More poetic

After school life ended, my world of imagination became more vivid in college. By then, I had started framing different stories and I still remember how a serial which my mother used to watch made a big impact on my mind. I kept on imagining its future episodes for years. Yes, one may find it insane, but I actually felt very happy and relaxed in that creative world. Somewhere in my heart, I really craved to become a writer, not just a freelancer to earn my livelihood, but a name which people could actually rely on.

“My Discovery- The World of Expressions”

It was in college that I started penning down my thoughts in poetic form. My first collection of 38 poems proved to be quite intense in feelings. I got to know it when I actually saw my friends either crying or lost in deep thoughts after listening to those poems. There, I got the motivation to move ahead in the writing world. Later, my poetic collection was also published by the name of ‘Expressions- My Mind’s Impressions’.

A Wake Up Call which Set the Path

Yes, my journey had begun and soon my first story got published and applauding comments on it really overwhelmed me. The biggest motivation came from Merinews where my article ‘Wake up India!’ won first prize in citizen journalist category.

“When Imagination Met Motivation”

An imagination can’t take birth in real world till it gets enough motivation for taking a definite form. After meeting my partner, my world of fascination got a new path and we both worked together to make it a platform which could help us as well as others.

A Dream Smiling in Cradle- WordBeat

Thereafter, I never looked back and my writing journey kept on moving slowly and smoothly. I joined various platforms and people started appreciating my write ups which boosted my confidence even more. Then, I was introduced to the most beautiful word of my life ‘WordBeat’ which I started with my small core team with a big dream. Yes, that big dream is yet to be fulfilled, but I feel contented to see the path of success which will certainly lead me to that dream.
